Olympiacos appealed to EuroLeague Disciplinary Judge following the comments of Dimitris Giannakopoulos, accusing the team of bribing two of the Panathinaikos-Olympiacos game referees, as the team announced with a press release.

The text is the following: “OLYMPIACOS BC filed an official complaint with the Euroleague’s Sporting Judge in regard to the official statement made by PANATHINAIKOS BC and Dimitris Giannakopoulos slandering Olympiacos with the claim that the Club had attempted to offer a monetary bribe to the referees of the PanathinaikosOlympiacos game for the 6th round of the Euroleague, Mr. Paternico and Mr. Zamojski”.

Olympiacos’ appeal followed an announcement made by the Union of EuroLeague Referees, stating that legal action may be taken against Panathinaikos’ owner.

Τhe EuroLeague Disciplinary Judge will decide after taking Olympiacos’ appeal into his hands if there will be a case against Panathinaikos for the statements about a possible bribery.
