Pedro Martinez who recently parted ways with KIROLBET Baskonia is near a deal with Herbalife Gran Canaria, according to Eurohoops sources.
The two sides are in advanced talks since Gran Canaria also decided to fire coach Salva Maldonado. With Victor Garcia acting as interim coach, the team got the road win in Milan.
Martinez is not a stranger for Gran Canaria. He was the coach of the team between 2009 and 2014 before leaving for Manresa and then for Valencia, winning the EuroCup coach of the year award back in 2017 and also the Spanish league title of the same year.
