Derrick Williams is getting to know the European game and his impact can’t be denied, as he is named the Turkish Airlines EuroLeague MVP for Round 12.

Per EuroLeague’s press release: With the best performance of his brief Turkish Airlines EuroLeague career, FC Bayern Munich forward Derrick Williams not only made the difference in his team’s dramatic 88-84 win over Zalgiris Kaunas, but in the process earned the MVP honor for Round 12. Williams’s 27 points and performance index rating of 35 were personal bests for the 27-year-old EuroLeague newcomer, and both marks rank second in Bayern’s 56-game EuroLeague history.

In his usual role off the bench, Williams shot 7-for-10 on two-pointers and 3-for-5 behind the arc, while making all 4 of his free throw attempts. He also posted a team-high 7 rebounds, 3 assists and 2 steals, too. His effort lifted Bayern to a 6-6 record and a tie for sixth place in the standings. Round 10’s second-best index rating, 33, came from the same game and belonged to Zalgiris center Brandon Davies, who collected 20 points, 6 rebounds, 3 assist, 2 blocks and drew 7 fouls. Mike James of AX Armani Exchange Olimpia Milan scored a career-high 31 points to go with 6 assists, 4 rebounds and 1 steal for a PIR 30 in a road loss against Fenerbahce Istanbul. Rounding out the list of Round 12’s top performers are Herbalife Gran Canaria point guard Nikola Radicevic and Panathinaikos OPAP Athens center Konstantinos Mitoglou, each with an index rating of 27. Radicevic had 12 points, 11 assists, 4 rebounds and 1 steal in a win over Buducnost VOLI Podgorica, while Mitoglou had 20 points, 6 rebounds and 2 steals in victory over Darussafaka Tekfen Istanbul.
