Rick Pitino is near a deal with Panathinaikos and he confirmed the advanced talks with the Greek club to Greek sports portal Gazzetta.gr.
“I know that the team lost to Real Madrid last night”, said Pitino who seems to be more than aware about the situation of the Athenian team. “I know Nick Calathes very well and also I know that the team needs reinforcement both in the paint and in the backcourt. I can’t say anything more, because I am still waiting to contact my agent who is based in California and it’s not even morning there yet”.
Pitino is expected to be the new coach of the Greens.
