Olimpia Milano head coach Simone Pianigiani commented the protest that Panathinaikos filed over the defeat to the Italian team when he was asked about it during the post-game press conference.

“Honestly, I think that Panathinaikos is a top club. I don’t think that they will complain about something when we led for 40 minutes in their home. I think they know we played better tonight,” Pianigiani said.

Regarding the match and his team’s first victory that snapped a five-game losing streak, Pianigiani said, “I think we deserved this win because we led more or less all game long. It is never easy here, especially for us because we are not in an easy moment. We didn’t have Panathinaikos‘s pace, so leading all the game here is not easy. With all that, my players showed the right mentality to stay in the game. They excelled at following the game plan and were smart for 38 minutes. As for the last minute and a half, we need to survive in those moments, in this atmosphere and when Panathinaikos was pushing.”
