Mike James tweeted yesterday about an incident he had with the police in Milan mentioning that officers stopped him and his friends because of racial profiling. The American guard stressed that the policemen were with their guns in their hands. However, police denied James’ version per La Gazzetta dello Sport.

The carabinieri initially denied any involvement in the affair. They later admitted via an announcement that James and their friends were indeed stopped for a simple check and were let to continue their walk after they showed their papers to the authorities. According to the police, the officers never pointed their guns at the Milan guard and his friends.

Today,  James reacted to a video from Corriere della Sera on Twitter and wrote: “This video is 20 minutes after the fact. By this video they found out I was a basketball player and wanted to have conversation. But I mean you can report what you want”.
