Olympiacos fined with €32.500 for incidents in the game against Panathinaikos

Olympiacos was punished from the EuroLeague for incidents which happened in the game against Panathinaikos, that included a fan spitting on Dimitris Giannakopoulos.

Olympiacos will have to pay a total fine of 32.5000 euros for everything that happened during the recent EuroLeague game against Panathinaikos. Out of this sum, a fine of 15.000 euros is the result of one fan spitting Dimitris Giannakopoulos – who is called “an individual” on the official press release – and also there’s a fine of 3.000 euros for insulting chants which targeted the owner of Panathinaikos, who attended the game sitting on the side of his team’s bench.

The press release is the following: “Olympiacos Piraeus has been sanctioned with a fine of €15,000 for an aggression by the public towards an individual; a fine of €2,500 for the lighting of firecrackers; a fine of €12,000 for the use of laser pointers; and a fine of €3,000 for the conduct of a group of people insulting an individual, all on the occasion of its home game against Panathinaikos OPAP Athens, under Article 29.1.e), 29.2.e), 29.2.f) and 29.2.h) of the Euroleague Basketball Disciplinary Code respectively“.
