Panathinaikos OPAP Athens cannot seem to find the way to win on the road. The Greens lost to Zalgiris in Kaunas, a result that came after two completely different pictures the team had, according to head coach Rick Pitino.

Panathinaikos was up in the first half, scoring down low in the paint. In the second half, however, they shot 17 three-pointers and failed to post up down low. After being asked by a reporter, on the certain matter, Pitino said the following: “You make a great point. I wish my players listen to your question. They posted up in the paint, that’s the strategy. But when you post up 15 feet on the wing, then all you do is get trapped, throw it out for a three-pointer and not a great three-point shooting team. So you, being a brilliant reporter, you recognize it. Unfortunately, the team didn’t recognize it. Bravo to you. Do me a favor when you go to the locker room, mention that to that team, please.”

Finally, he also praised the Zalgiris‘ organization and the atmosphere in “Zalgirio Arena”: “Great arena. Great facilities, great place. Super atmosphere, I’m very impressed. You all love basketball, love the spirit. Our fans are also great and our play has to match to people driving six days and taking charters.”
