Darussafaka Tefken Istanbul stirred up trouble in the standings once again, this time with an 80-75 victory over visiting Baskonia Vitoria-Gasteiz in Round 20 of Turkish Airlines EuroLeague.

Baskonia falls to a 9-11 record and its presence in the playoffs is far from safe at this point, as it has a tied record with Olimpia Milano and Maccabi Tel Aviv, that both got respective wins on Thursday evening.

Toney Douglas was on an all-productive night, adding 21 points, six rebounds, five assists, and five steals against the Spanish team, as Michael Eric followed with 18 points.

“We are learning. The players are learning. Our staff is learning. We are taking lessons from the games that we lost. Sometimes it’s unlucky, but most of the time, you have to fight also against bad luck”, commented Darussafaka head coach Selcuk Ernak in his post-game quotes.

Injury-plagued Baskonia led in the first half but was on a slow-paced tempo in the second and had Matt Janning and Johannes Voigtmann scoring in double-digits, with 18 and 14 points each.
