Panathinaikos head coach Rick Pitino absolutely praised Nick Calathes after the latter dished out 13 assists in the Greens’ win over Anadolu Efes.
“I’ve coached against Magic Johnson, Larry Bird. Some of the great guards in the game… Maurice Cheeks, Isiah Thomas. Nick Calathes is the best passer I’ve seen in my lifetime,” Pitino said in the post-game flash interview.

Panathinaikos guard Sean Kilpatrick pretty much echoed his coach’s words. “Nick is one of the best passers I’ve probably ever seen in my life.”
Calathes, who flirted with the triple-double after finishing with 20 points and eight rebounds apart from his 13 dimed, climbed to the eighth place in EuroLeague’s all-time assist leaders list, passing fellow Greek guard Nikos Zisis.
