This year’s season without a doubt belongs to Boban Marjanovic who has evolved into the season’s player-revelation. The Serb giant completed his best year in the Euroleague and broke a few records that seemed… haunted.
Since the last round Marjanovic managed to surpass Tanoka Beard of Zalgiris from the 2004-05 season, who had 14 double-doubles in a total of 20 games. Crvena Zvezda’s center reached 16 double-doubles in a total of 24 games.
Also, Marjanovic surpassed Anthony Parker in total points in the rankings during a whole season, as the American from Maccabi’s backcourt had 597 in total in the period 2004-05. At the top of this list is Dejan Tomasevic, when in the 2000-01 season with Buducnost had an average ranking of 30,9! The center of Crvena Zvezda has of course the record in ranking in the Top 16, while he had 367 total ranking this season!
Boban Marjanovic of course dominates rebounds as well, as he became the player with the most rebounds during a season with 256, surpassing Mircad Turkcan. The veteran Turk got 248 in the 2001-02 season wearing Siena’s jersey in a total of 21 games. Also the Serbian center grabbed 149 rebounds in the Top 16, which is record in this phase.
