Zalgiris Kaunas looks to really push for a playoffs spot and proved so in Turkish Airlines Round 28 with a huge 94-67 victory over visiting Darussafaka.

The Lithuanian team looks to live up to last year’s immense success despite the various changes in its pace throughout the season and could hope for a place there with two more wins, provided that Olympiacos and Panathinaikos will lose a game in the next two rounds. At the same time, they have to watch out for Maccabi, with which they now share a 13-15 record.

“I know I keep doing it, but it’s a privilege to play in front of 15,000 people every week. Not many teams have that — and this season, no teams have that — and we are very lucky. I think the guys believe; it’s just a matter of going one game at a time, one practice at a time, and we have to keep pushing, keep pushing, and see what happens”, mentioned Sarunas Jasikevicius in his post-game quotes.

Brandon Davies was once again the leading scorer of Zalgiris, with 13 points across 19 minutes on the court, while Deon Thompson, Nate Wolters, and Arturas Milaknis shared 12 points each.

Already eliminated Darussafaka showed no resistance throughout the game and let the home team take charge from the get-go. Still, Jeremy Evans paced the visitors’ effort with 14 points and five rebounds.
