Simone Pianigiani was asked by Eurohoops in the press conference after the defeat by Anadolu Efes about the Italian media reports, concerning the relationships between his players and he defended his team.
“You are so funny”, Piangiani said visibly sarcastic. “Do you think that you find one coach who talks about rumors?! Rumors that some newspaper in another country says about the locker room and you find that your career… you’re young, fortunately for you, but you think in your career you find someone that explain rumors?! How can you think that I’ll give you an answer about this sh*t that nobody knows, nobody thinks. I’m working and because one newspaper that I don’t know, I don’t know what you say, in another country that know rumors in our locker room”.
When it was clarified that those reports appeared in Italian media, Pianigiani didn’t back down: “Great, so, what I can say? That there are rumors, there is a problem? Do you see a problem on the court? I see players that try until the end. I see six players in double-digits tonight, they pass the ball to each other. We try the whole season our best. Maybe if Efes had injuries like we did, they wouldn’t end up in the fourth position. We don’t have a problem in the locker room for sure. We have a problem that we miss Gudaitis that we missed more than three months Nedovic and is still on limited minutes. We had many changes and we fight the whole season at the same level as our opponent everywhere. I think you must comment on what you see on the court and not make gossip because I think it’s better for your career.”
