The Turkish Airlines EuroLeague Playoffs tip off with Game 1 in four best-of-five quarterfinal series on Tuesday, April 16 and Wednesday, April 17.

The action gets underway in Moscow where second-place CSKA will face KIROLBET Baskonia Vitoria Gasteiz. For two teams that also clashed in Round 30 of the regular season, this is the fourth time CSKA and Baskonia face each other in the playoffs. CSKA has won all of its 13 playoff series this century, while Baskonia hopes to be the team to snap that remarkable streak and book a place in the Final Four in front of its fans.

Later on Tuesday, the best regular season team, Fenerbahce Beko Istanbul, will take on visiting Zalgiris Kaunas in Game 1. These two teams faced each other in the Final Four semifinals last year, and now play for a spot in the Final Four. Fenerbahce has yet to lose a playoffs home game under coach Zeljko Obradovic, while the team of his pupil, Sarunas Jasikevicius, rides a six-game winning streak going into the series.

Wednesday action starts on Istanbul’s European side, where Anadolu Efes Istanbul will host its first Game 1 this century with FC Barcelona Lassa as its visitor. Efes, 0-5 in the playoffs since 2005, faces a two-time continental champion that has been absent from the playoffs the last two years and will be gunning for its first Final Four appearance since 2014.

Last but not the least, it’s the re-match of last year’s series between now defending champion Real Madrid and Panathinaikos OPAP Athens. This year, they open the series with Wednesday and Friday games in the Spanish capital, after Madrid ousted Panathinaikos 3-1 last season without home-court advantage en route to winning its 10th EuroLeague title. The Greens are poised for some revenge as they enter the playoffs as the winner of seven of their last eight games. The only loss? It happened in Round 29 on a miracle buzzer-beater by Madrid’s Rudy Fernandez.
