Fortunately for Pablo Laso, he won’t have to tell Sergio Llull to sit out…

Coach Pablo Laso led Real Madrid to their sixth EuroLeague Final Four in the six years has led them after beating Panathinaikos in Game 3 today (23/4). Laso noted after the game that he will always try to make his team better than it is and made a small joke regarding Sergio Llull – who is out due to injury – in case they lost the game:

“Well, I think I’m obliged as the coach to try for us to always be a better team tomorrow than today. Of course, I have great players, of course, Llull is a great player… And you tell me, if we lost today, how do I tell Llull not to play on Thursday? He would kill me”, he said making the room laugh.

If you think about a playoff series against one of the best teams in Europe and you miss a player like Llull, you deserve a lot of credit to the whole team. Of course, you are asking today about Campazzo or Rudy but for me, there are no names, for me, it’s big plays. And when I see Randolph fighting for the ball on the floor with two minutes to go, for me that’s even bigger than a three-pointer. So, I think it’s very, let’s say stupid from my part to talk about any individual player. I think we started the year with 16 players and they were always ready to play and fight for the team and this is something that makes me very proud as a coach”, Laso said.
