Barcelona Lassa’s Svetislav Pesic has been focused on preparing his squad for the EuroLeague playoffs Game 5 against Anadolu Efes and noted he isn’t worried about refereeing and coach Ergin Ataman’s comments: “We all know what Ataman is like, he never changes, he always does the same thing when he loses. We have to prove to the referees that we are here to win. If the referees feel that the players of a team fight and do not argue, they will give you the opportunity to play your basketball”, he noted, per Mundo Deportivo.
The 69-year-old coach added that his players have to show courage and attack without any doubts in order to set the tone: “We have to not think too much, attack with risk and no doubt. This sends them the message that we want to win the game.”
Pesic also warned that it all starts with defense, especially on Efes‘ backcourt duo of Vasilije Micic and Shane Larkin: “They have ten foreign players, with a lot of experience, especially in attack. But they also play defense, they have a good balance. Micic and Larkin are two very important players. It is important how we play the defense on the rival guards. The defense starts there, stopping Micic and Larkin. We did very well in the last game”, he explained.
