Despite missing the EuroLeague playoffs, Dejan Radonjic is expected to extend his contract with Bayern Munich as president Uli Hoeness implied on a press conference held on Friday, celebrating his 40 years with the club.

As Hoeness said he is “very positive about the Montenegrin, who did a very good job. He came in a difficult situation at the time when there was a lot of chaos and he did well”.

However, he added that the European basketball players must be protected from a heavy burden of games. “Things can not go on like this, players will soon have four games a week and additional travel across Europe, so it should not be like that,” said Hoeness, speaking about the EuroLeague expansion to 18 teams.

“I do not understand that, but I do not think it would be wise to extend the burden,” added the Bayern president who also wants from the German domestic league to change. “The BBL must also provide relief and consider a reduction from 18 to 16 teams”.
