EuroLeague Basketball announced all the details regarding the events of the FanZone of the 2019 Final Four that is taking place in Vitoria-Gasteiz.

Per EuroLeague.net:

Get ready for one of the largest fan-based events in sports. The Turkish Airlines EuroLeague FanZone at the Final Four in Vitoria-Gasteiz will take over the heart of the city at three of its central squares. Those three FanZone settings – at Plaza España (Plaza Nueva) and the nearby Plaza de la Virgen Blanca and Plaza de los Fueros – will offer all who visit a taste of both the medieval architecture and modern buildings that characterize the city.

Located just three kilometers from the home of the 2019 Final Four, Fernando Buesa Arena, the three-day FanZone is expected to attract hundreds of thousands of visitors. It will be open for 12 hours daily, from 10 a.m. to 10 p.m., throughout Final Four weekend, and will be filled with games, shows, contests and activities sponsored by Euroleague Basketball partners Turkish Airlines, 7DAYS, adidas, Bwin, Eneos, Endesa, AXA, Oscar Mayer, Volvo and StubHub.

Vitoria-Gasteiz’s Plaza España is the latest iconic venue to host FanZone, following Trafalgar Square in London, Piazza del Duomo in Milan, Plaza Oriente in Madrid, Alexanderplatz in Berlin and most recently, Kalemegdan Park and Belgrade Fortress in the Serbian capital. Plaza España, situated next to Vitoria-Gasteiz’s town hall, was built in the late 1700s to connect the old town with the new parts of the city under construction. Plaza de la Virgen Blanca, at whose stands a monument to the Battle of Vitoria, was the city’s main square in the middle ages. The triangular Plaza de los Fueros was built in 1979.

At the FanZone’s main court in Plaza España, visitors will be treated to games of the EuroLeague Academy Tournament and the adidas 3X3 Tournament all weekend long. One Team activities will also take place at the FanZone and daily visits by One Team Ambassadors and Final Four Ambassadors are scheduled, too.

Among the ambassadors set to visit the FanZone on are Joe Arlaukas, Michailis Kakiouzis, Ibrahim Kutluay, Andres Nocioni, Igor Rakocevic, Johnny Rogers, Mirsad Turkcan and Nikola Vujcic.

Players from the Final Four teams will visit the FanZone on Saturday. Scheduled to appear are Dogus Balbay, Vasilije Micic and Sertac Sanli of Anadolu Efes Istanbul; Kyle Hines, Nikita Kurbanov, Sergio Rodriguez and Andrey Vorontsevich of CSKA Moscow; Sinan Guler, Marko Guduric, and Nicolo Melli of Fenerbahce Beko Istanbul; and Klemen Prepelic, Felipe Reyes and Santi Yusta of Real Madrid.

Euroleague Basketball are set to offer fans the opportunity to imitate their idols by performing their own slam dunk in the FanZone. It is the chance for fans to recreate their most memorable thunderous throwdowns as seen during the Turkish Airlines EuroLeague season. With a camera set to capture the moment, visitors will use the extra bounce using a trampoline to reach new heights.

The adidas 3×3 tournament is free of charge and those teams interested can register online at http://adidas3vs3.euroleague.net. The tournament winners will get a very special prize – tickets for the Turkish Airlines EuroLeague Championship game on Sunday!

The FanZone will have plenty of ongoing entertainment, with a live DJ, shows by the EFES Euroleague Dancers, interactive activities and much, much more. One of the special highlights will be a Saturday night concert at Plaza de los Fueros featuring Venturi, Los Coronas and Aurora & The Betrayers.

The relationship that fans in Vitoria-Gasteiz have with basketball is a special one. When those who arrive from Istanbul, Madrid, Moscow – and all over the world – join together at the FanZone, the greatest party in basketball will be hopping on centuries-old cobblestones. The 2019 Turkish Airlines EuroLeague FanZone is certain to be one of the highlights of the Final Four!
