VITORIA-GASTEIZ – Fenerbahce Beko will face Anadolu Efes in EuroLeague Final Four Semifinals action on Friday. One of the two clubs will represent Turkey in Sunday’s Final. However, the head coach and a player from both teams firstly participated in the Turkish Airlines EuroLeague Final Four Opening Press Conference.
A veteran of the competition, Zeljko Obradovic, answered a question about the contest itself mentioning: “Efes is a team that uses a lot of pick-and-roll. We need to be ready and play at the level we played during the season to win the game”. The Serbian head coach also pointed out: “Vitoria deserves to host a Final Four because of the love it has for basketball and also anything you can eat here is always going to be outstanding.”
Anadolu Efes’ boss, Ergin Ataman, remembered last year’s 16th-place finish and wished: “We need to rotate the standings table from last year.” He later said: “We will play against the best coach of EuroLeague history and the best team of the current season.” Asked about how his team would celebrate potentially winning the EuroLeague title: “We will fly to Ibiza on Monday and then continue playing in the Turkish League playoffs”.
Kostas Sloukas and Vasilije Micic were asked about the six previous encounters between the two sides. The 25-year-old Serbian point guard pointed out: “The seventh game versus Fenerbahce will be special” and the Greek guard said: “We know each other and how to beat each other.”
