Jeffery Taylor and Pablo Laso explained why the technical foul which was given to Real Madrid’s coach was the wrong call

VITORIA-GASTEIZ — With six minutes left and with Real Madrid leading by three points in the semifinal against CSKA Moscow, a “T” was given to coach Pablo Laso. This probably was a crucial mistake from the refereeing crew as both Jeffery Taylor and Pablo Laso explained after the game.

“The technical foul was a bad call, the coach got mad to one of our players. He threw the towel and the referee came from across the floor to give a technical foul. His back was turned to the referees, he was not even saying anything so…To me, it’s a bad call”, said Taylor who spoke also about the bad defense of his team to Eurohoops.

Coach Pablo Laso also explained in the press conference that even the referees kind of admitted their mistake: “The referees have told me that they could not go back on that decision, nothing more. What could I do? Keep protesting and get kicked out? No. Not even the other two refs could understand it. We have all made mistakes. I tell you this with all the sincerity of the world. I’ve thrown in the towel and the only thing I’ve said is ‘why does Edy is not running back?’ It’s the only thing I’ve said and I was hit with technical foul”.

Taylor had more things to say to Eurohoops about the game, his team’s defense and the turnaround of CSKA.
