CSKA Moscow won the 2018-19 Turkish Airlines EuroLeague and they were invited to the Arseny Morozov house, the Reception House Of The Government Of The Russian Federation, in order to receive their honors.
They were welcomed by Olga Golodets, the Deputy Prime Minister for Sport, Tourism and Cultural Development, as well as Sergei Ivanov, the Special Representative of the President of the Russian Federation on the Issues of Environmental Activities, Environment and Transport.
Olga Golodets as the main hostess welcomed the team: “Our whole country was rooting for you. Your victory brought all fans of CSKA, all Russian fans great joy. Therefore, on behalf of the Government, I want to thank you all very much”, she said.
“As you know, there are moments through which you have to go in life – political, sports… You take the blows, but it’s more important how do you rise back up again after them. This team has risen after the blows and deserves the applause”, coach Dimitris Itoudis said.
CSKA captain Kyle Hines also shared a few words: “On behalf of the team, I want to thank you for the honor of being accepted here today. As a team and club, we are proud to represent Moscow and Russia not only in the Euroleague but also on the whole continent. We became the champions, and everyone who was related to the club, who is here, is also a champion.”
