Olympiacos started planning for next season and Nigel Williams-Goss remains a key component of the backcourt, despite Zalgiris Kaunas’ interest

Nigel Williams-Goss has a contract for next season with Olympiacos and despite the rumors about him parting ways with the Reds, there’s virtually no way that this can be considered a valid scenario, at least at this point.

Contrary to what has been speculated, Zalgiris Kaunas has not presented any offer towards Olympiacos or the player in order to get him away from Piraeus.

Again, although unlikely, that would be the only way in which both Olympiacos and Williams-Goss may even consider examining the possibility to part ways and only if this scenario can be mutually beneficial to both sides.

After all, the only buy-out clause included on his contract this summer is the NBA-out. The player’s rights belong to the Utah Jazz who are following his closely during his first two seasons in Europe.

One other key fact is that David Blatt fully believes in Williams-Goss’ potential and there’s the belief in the club that the young guard is on track to have a big season for them in 2019-20, compared to the ups and downs of his first EuroLeague year.

The bottom line is that Williams-Goss has a guaranteed contract for next season, so unless he desires to play elsewhere — which according to Eurohoops sources he does not —  the rumors of his possible departure from Olympiacos is just that: rumors.
