CSKA Moscow and Will Clyburn will stay together through the 2021-22 season, as the extension of their co-operation was announced Friday, confirming prior Eurohoops reports.

Clyburn, the 2019 Final Four MVP, played a key role for the Army Team during the season and helped them lift the Turkish Airlines EuroLeague trophy.

The 29-year-old player had his best season with the team so far, in which he averaged 13.6 points, 6.8 rebounds, 1.5 assists and 1.0 steals in 35 EuroLeague appearances for an average performance index rating of 17.5.

“I am very excited to continue my career here,” Clyburn said in a statement issued by the club. “Obviously, these two years were a learning experience and a fulfillment. We won the EuroLeague this year, as well as VTB League. It was a great year, so I am happy to continue to try to build and achieve more here. I am happy that CSKA, as an organization, wants me to stay. I am going to enjoy it.”

“We are all happy that we will continue working with Will and being a part of his growth as a player, a person and a family man,” CSKA head coach Dimitris Itoudis said. “He has proven in the last two years that he is thrilled and determined to defend CSKA’s colors and to become a better player – a franchise player, I would say. May God keep him healthy so that he helps to bring more trophies to CSKA.”
