After losing Nicolo Melli to the NBA, Fenerbahce reacted fast and managed to acquire the best available player in Europe for the power forward position, Derrick Williams.

The former Bayern player received an offer from Anadolu Efes earlier this summer and for a long period, Olimpia Milano was actively pursuing to sign him.

The American forward who posted 13.4 points, 4.2 rebounds and a 14.2 PIR in 29 EuroLeague games last season decided to sign a one-year deal with Fenerbahce.

Williams explored several options in the NBA but he didn’t find what he was looking for in the States.

Once more, the front office of Fenerbahce proved to be more than effective under unpredictable situations. They lost Marko Guduric and Nicolo Melli to the Memphis Grizzlies and New Orleans Pelicans respectively and they bounced back in the most incredible way, signing two of the biggest names in the European market, Nando De Colo and now, Derrick Williams.
