After bringing Derrick Williams to Europe last season, FC Bayern Munich managed to convince one more player with a long NBA career to test the old continent.

As Eurohoops sources confirmed, FC Bayern Munich signed 29 years old center Greg Monroe to a one year deal. The move is expected to be officially announced in a few hours.

Bayern teased the deal by presenting on social media the outline of a photo of Monroe and preparing their fans for a “big announcement”.

Monroe, the 7th pick of the 2010 NBA draft, has played for the Pistons, the Bucks, the Suns, the Celtics, the Raptors and most recently for the Sixers.

A product of Georgetown, he had 632 NBA games under his belt averaging 13.2 ppg and 8.3 rpg.

It’s an impressive move that builds momentum for the Bayern roster of next season.
