ELPA had the last word for the moment, and things are expected to change in agents-players relationships

After the initial proposal for changes in FIBA contracts and the reaction of ELPA vice president Kyle Hines, the debate continued.

Octagon Europe Director Giorgos Dimitropoulos and Kyle Hines tweeted on the matter again today. Meanwhile, NSI CEO Nikolaos Spanos added the idea of an agents union with BeoBasket CEO Misko Raznatovic agreeing.

The bottom line is that the discussion on the matter has just started and the EuroLeague Players’ Association is ready to be part of it.

As ELPA announced: “In the light of recent twitter posts from various agents about changes to FIBA agent-player standard contracts, we can say that as with any other issues, our doors for discussions are always open. Some changes will come easier than others.  We would like to add that our member Kyle Hines’ initiative and desire to better players status and situations are second to none. He is an exemplary player (on and off the court) and is selflessly pushing us, to help improve current and future players lives and careers”.
