Fredette was “hot” from beyond the arc for Panathinaikos.

DeShaun Thomas scored 21 points and Jimmer Fredette added 17 points with 5/5 triples as Panathinaikos defeated Fenerbahce Beko 84 – 74 in the third-place game of the “Pavlos Giannakopoulos” preseason tournament, held in Athens.

Ahmet Duverioglu dropped 14 points, Berkay Candan 13 and Tarik Biberovic 11 for a Fenerbahce squad that was without such players as Gigi Datome and Jan Vesely.

Fredette opened the game with 4/4 from beyond the arc to push Panathinaikos towards taking a 24 – 21 lead by the end of the first quarter. The “Greens” improved their advantage to 20, 53 – 33, in the beginning of the second half.

Fener cut down its deficit to 10, 68 – 58, in the mid of the fourth period but the hosts of the tournament retained control of the game until the end.
