Alex Perez appeared on today’s game against Pieno Zvaigzdes with the motto “f-ck cancer” written on his sneakers, confirming reports of Donatas Urbonas that he is going through family issues.

Sarunas Jasikevicius revealed earlier in the day in an interview with Urbonas that Perez’ father and grandfather both have cancer. Even though this made his future in the team seem a bit unclear, the player, later on, confirmed he is staying in Kaunas and that he “can’t think of leaving”, in an interview with Jonas Miklovas of basketnews.lt.
“He works very professionally, he tries hard, but obviously he has hard thoughts. It doesn’t help him, but we try to support him. The club is doing its best to make him feel better. There are no issues with his work ethic,” said Jasikevičius.
