LDLC ASVEL Villeurbanne celebrated another home victory, this time against Panathinaikos, only a week after defeating Olympiacos in the EuroLeague opener.
Zvezdan Mitrovic admitted that this outcome was one his team couldn’t imagine even in their craziest dreams.
“My team tonight really showed amazing character and an amazing game. When we went down we still tried to fight until the last second. In the end, we started to play really good defense and I think we deserved to win. In the craziest dreams, we couldn’t imagine that we would open the EuroLeague season against two legendary Greek teams and win both games at home”, he mentioned after the game.
A surprising result indeed that now puts ASVEL in a position of power in the standings with 2 out of 2 victories, even after much struggle against the Greens.
