Baskonia captain Tornike Shengelia was officially named the MVP of Round 6 of the EuroLeague regular season thanks to his performance in the win of his team over Bayern Munich.

With his team needing to protect its home floor, KIROLBET Baskonia Vitoria-Gasteiz captain Tornike Shengelia stepped up once again to lead a 93-60 blowout win over FC Bayern Munich on Friday. Shengelia’s performance index rating of 28, the highest among players on winning teams in Round 6, earning him his second MVP of the Round honor in as many weeks. The Baskonia forward scored 13 of his team-high 19 points in the first quarter. He made 4 of 8 two-pointers, 2 of 2 triples and all 5 of his free throws. Shengelia also collected 3 rebounds, 2 assists, 1 steal and 1 block in the winning effort. The highest PIR in this round was 30 and belonged to Shane Larkin of Anadolu Efes Istanbul. In a road loss against Panathinaikos OPAP Istanbul, Larkin had 28 points with 3 rebounds, 3 assists and 7 fouls drawn. Nando De Colo of Fenerbahce had an index rating of 28, the same as Shengelia, however his team lost at home against Zalgiris Kaunas despite his 29 points and 2 assists. Rounding out the list of Round 6’s top performers were Kostas Sloukas of Fenerbahce and Anthony Gill of Khimki Moscow Region, both with PIRs of 25. Sloukas collected 13 points and 9 assists, while Gill had 11 points to go with career highs of 11 rebounds and 3 blocks in Khimki’s loss at Crvena Zvezda mts Belgrade.

De Colo led all scorers this round with 29 points and sits atop the leader board for the season with 22.3 points per game. Gill and Chris Singleton of Efes each had 11 rebounds, the most in Round 6. Nikola Milutinov of Olympiacos Piraeus remains as the overall rebounding leader, averaging 10.8 boards. Nick Calathes led all passers with 10 assists in this round. Calathes also tops the season rankings with 9.2 per night. Three players had 3 steals this round: Nikola Mirotic of FC Barcelona, Facundo Campazzo of Real Madrid, and Rokas Giedraitis of ALBA Berlin. Efes guard Vasilije Micic leads the EuroLeague with 2.2 steals per game. Real’s Walters Tavares was the top shot-blocker this round, matching his career-high with 4 rejections. Youssoupha Fall of Baskonia leads all players this season with 1.7 blocks per game. There were three double-doubles in Round 6: Singleton had 13 points and 11 rebounds, Gill collected 11 points plus 11 rebounds, and Calathes had 11 point and 10 assists.
