The deal between K.C. Rivers and Zalgiris Kaunas is now official.

Zalgiris Kaunas added K.C. Rivers, the Lithuanian team announced on Friday. Coosur Real Betis confirmed that the 32-year-old American departed to join the EuroLeague side as well. Rivers already had a done deal with Zalgiris.

Now officially set for his EuroLeague comeback under Sarunas Jasikevicius’ guidance, the Clemson alumni left Spain with 10.1 points, 2.4 rebounds and 2.2 assists per ACB contest this season.

With Khimki Moscow Region, Real Madrid, FC Bayern Munich and Panathinaikos previously competed in 145 EuroLeague matches from 2012 to 2018.

Zalgiris is currently 3-7 in EuroLeague, 10-0 in LKL.

Per Zalgiris: “Zalgiris will soon receive reinforcements with a depth of EuroLeague experience, as the club agreed to a one-year deal with 32-year-old guard K.C. Rivers.

The versatile American, who stands at 196 cm tall and can slot into three positions, has played in some of Europe’s top clubs throughout his career. Rivers started playing professional basketball in Italian and French teams and moved on to Russia after several successful seasons. He then represented Lokomotiv Krasnodar and made his EuroLeague debut in the EuroLeague.

In the 2014-2015 season K.C. Rivers played for Real Madrid and helped the team to titles both on the local and international front. After a short stint in Bayern, he returned to Real Madrid.

Zalgiris’ newcomer put up great numbers in his Panathinaikos campaign in 2016-2017, as he averaged 11.2 points and made 71 three-pointers in 33 EuroLeague games.

Rivers spent last season in Crvena Zvezda Belgrade, and returned to Spain this summer, where he represented Real Betis Sevilla.

The guard averaged 10.1 points, 2.4 rebounds and 2.2 assists In the Spanish league.”
