Baskonia presents record-breaking impact of 2019 Final Four

Although KIROLBET Baskonia was not part of the 2019 EuroLeague Final Four, the tournament itself brought multiple gains to Vitoria-Gasteiz. The Spanish club presented via press release figures on the economic and media impact of the Final Four that took place at the Fernando Buesa Arena between 17 and 19 of last May.

The total economic impact of 56 million euros set a new Final Four record, 12% higher than the 2018 Final Four at Belgrade and 64% higher to the 2017 Final Four at Istanbul.

The occupancy rate in local hotels was over 98% standing out in the 13.5 million euros of the direct revenue. Overnight expenses exceeded four million euros with 53% of the attendees spent three to four days at Vitoria-Gasteiz.

On the media effect, it accounted to 42.5 million euros, 40.4 million stemming from television broadcasts. Viewers from a record-breaking 193 countries watched Fenerbahce Beko, Anadolu Efes, CSKA Moscow and Real Madrid battle for the EuroLeague crown.

More than 15,000 related articles were posted online and 40 million impacts were made on social media. According to Google Trends, Vitoria-Gasteiz attracted the highest-ever interest of international internet users during the Final Four.
