Vasilije Micic talked to Eurohoops about the remaining part of Anadolu Efes’s squad, the NBA and the 2019 FIBA World Cup among other topics. The 25-year-old Serbian guard went on to reveal that Real Madrid made him an offer and explained why he opted to extend his contract with his current team.

“There was an offer,” he said referring to the Whites’ interest, “Definitely Real Madrid is the biggest name in basketball, but my career has taught me that what is on paper is not always important. I feel happy and that was important enough for me to stay here.”

On a potential jump to the NBA in his future, the 52nd pick of the 2014 draft left the door open. “Let’s say there are some rumors, but until the end of the season, I can’t see anything more. My focus is on this season” he mentioned.

Additionally, Micic looked back on the experience gained from the 2019 EuroLeague Final Four, the conditions Efes and head coach Ergin Ataman create for the players, the rivalry with Fenerbahce Beko and Serbia’s World Cup outing.
