Crvena Zvezda prevailed over Olimpia Milano with a 77-67 victory for Round 12 of Turkish Airlines EuroLeague and is on to a three-game winning streak with a 5-7 record.

Lorenzo Brown took charge and led the Serbian team in Milan with another dominant performance of 21 points, 7 assists, and four rebounds.

“We have been grinding this whole year, each and every one of us. I can’t thank enough my teammates for giving me great support”, Brown commented.

After leading the first half 40-39, Milano let their visitors take hold of the pace and so they did, ending the third period on a 57-50 advantage. Zvezda kept a short lead throughout the final period and in the end seized the victory on the road, just their second for this season.

“We said we will try to improve some parts of our game that we struggle and you don’t know if you will win, but you have to have in our mind to go for the win. More focus and more details we change, more chances we win the game”, said Zvezda coach Dragan Sakota after the game.

Milano suffered its third straight defeat and will have to bounce back in order to return to the top pack of the standings by improving its 7-5 record next week.

Sergio Rodriguez was the only player on the Italian team’s squad to finish the game in double digits, with 14 points.

Nedovic injured again

Milano played without Micov who is ruled out with injury, but also lacked Nemanja Nedovic in the second half, as he suffered an injury on his left thigh.

“I am afraid that Nedovic’s muscle injury is pretty serious,” Ettore Messina said after the game. “Gudaitis and Micov? I don’t know yet if they will be back for the double-game week against Real Madrid and Valencia. I hope so, but I don’t know”.
