Three questions on EuroLeague point machines were answered in the latest edition of EuroLeague Experts Round Table. The next player to surpass 40 points in a single game, the next team to go over 100 for the night and the next recipient of the Alphonso Ford Top Scorer Trophy.

Per EuroLeague:

“Who do you think will win the Alphonso Ford Top Scorer Trophy at the end of the season?

Ermal Kuqo

“There is one clearly strong candidate in Shane Larkin. I’m just stating the obvious here. Perhaps Nando De Colo and Alesey Shved might make a push and get close to him, but at this pace I see Larkin as the clear cut winner.”

Vladimir Stankovic

“Shane Larkin has the most chances to do it, but players like Nikola Mirotic, Mike James, Toko Shengelia and Alexey Shved can also get it.”

Piti Hurtado

“Nando de Colo still has not said his last word. He has extraordinary talent in the prime of his career.”

Drazen Kanazir

“The player who wants to receive this prestigious award must have an impressive skill set, consistency and an unbelievable supporting cast. Shane Larkin of Anadolu Efes Istanbul can check all the above. His team is first the standings with 10 wins und he himself is the current leader in scoring with 22.2 points per game. In Round 11, the explosive point guard made huge headlines as he scored an impressive 49 points against FC Bayern Munich and led his side to victory at home. Larkin managed to finish three times with more than 25 points and except for Round 3 has always in double digits.”

Andy West

It seems pretty crazy to answer this question with words other than ‘Shane Larkin’, considering the Efes man’s recent form, but I’m going with Nando De Colo. The French guard is now back to fitness after missing four games and Fenerbahce is starting to get on a roll with three consecutive wins. It’s hard not to see Fener making a serious move towards the playoffs positions, and De Colo will clearly be given a lot of opportunities to take on shots with Kostas Sloukas handling playmaking duties. De Colo already averages 20.5 points per game and I think that average will climb higher to eventually eclipse Larkin.“”
