Real Madrid outlasted Olimpia Milano and prevailed over with a 76-67 victory at home for Round 14 of Turkish Airlines EuroLeague. Real exceeded its streak to nine games (11-4), while this marks Milan’s fifth straight defeat (7-7).

Anthony Randolph played a key role for yet another game, and he led all Real scorers with 16 points (5-10 from the three-point line) and 7 rebounds, followed by Jordan Mickey’s 15-point performance.

Complementing their efforts, Facu Campazzo was overly productive with 12 assists, 7 points, three rebounds, and three steals.

Real bounces back in the second half to keep its streak going

Milan was in charge throughout the first half, leading by nine points at halftime (39-30).

“We were not able to, let’s say, impose our defense. We couldn’t run, we were too static, waiting a little bit for them. We talked at halftime about needing to somehow change that rhythm. I think we did it with great defense, great rebounding and being able to play in transition, get good passes, find an extra pass, get open jumpers”, commented Pablo Laso after the game.

Real’s reaction in the second half was fast and the hosts regained ground with a 24-13 run to lead by two points at the end of the third period (54-52).

Vladimir Micov tried to keep Milan in the game in the fourth period and led his team’s efforts with 22 points, but Real kept its advantage until the end.

What’s next

On Thursday (12/19) Olimpia Milano takes over Valencia with hopes to snap back, as Real faces Baskonia for an all-Spanish classic.
