Another injury blow for CSKA Moscow with Janis Strelnieks making his way to the sidelines.

Janis Strelnieks was ruled out indefinitely by CSKA Moscow due a hamstring injury in his left leg, the Russian club announced on Sunday. The latest addition to Dimitris Itoudis’ injury list was hurt in EuroLeague Regular Season Round 17 action during the home loss to Panathinaikos OPAP on Friday.

Per CSKA: “Our team’s guard Janis Strelnieks got injured during the game against Panathinaikos.

The Red-Blues’ point guard injured his left hamstring in the fourth quarter of the game. Provisional diagnosis was confirmed by the tests in the GMS Clinic of Moscow.

Strelnieks will be out long-term, he will rehab at the club’s facilities. The terms of his return on the court will be corrected accordingly to the results of intermediate tests.”

The Latvian guard has played in 16 EuroLeague matches so far averaging 8.5 points, 2.4 assists and 1.8 rebounds per appearance. CSKA is currently 12-6 in Europe’s premier club competition.

As for VTB United League, his side carries a 10-3 W-L tally with Strelnieks contributing in the form of 8.1 points, 1.9 dimes and 1.1 rebounds per contest.
