The season starts, Olympiacos had today its media day and once more Vasilis Spanoulis was the star of the show. Few days after announcing his decision to retire from the Greek national team, he clarified that his affair with Olympiacos is a very different matter.
Being in his 6th season with the team and a free agent in the summer of 2016, he feels that Olympiacos is his home, his second family and his future: “I have played my best basketball with Olympiacos and I have spend the most years of my career in this club. I have given and also I have taken much from this team. I feel good. There’s mutual respect and love with everyone in the club. The owners, the fans, the coaches, the teammates. I don’t have anything else on my mind than playing with Olympiacos until the end of my career. When the time comes, we will examine all the data and talk, like we always do”.
