Unicaja Malaga stood tall at Tel-Aviv and beat Maccabi 82-93, in a match where the Israeli team honoured the memory of the late Nate Huffman, who passed away a week ago.

This was the second win for the Spaniards in Group D, whereas Maccabi suffered their second defeat. For the winners, Mindaugas Kuzminskas was unstoppable with 23 points, with three more players being in double digits. For the Israelis, Taylor Rochestie had 18 points, as three more players were in double digits as well.

In the first half, the match was a close derby, with Malaga ending the first quarter in front by three points (21-24). Maccabi, though, stayed close and the second quarter ended in a draw (47-47), with both teams having a very high percentage from the three-point range (Maccabi-50%, Malaga-57%).

In the second half, the Spaniards immediately made a 7-0 run and took a seven-point lead (47-54) and retained it until the end of the quarter (58-62, 63-68). Malaga continued to have a six or seven-point advantage in the last quarter (71-78, 76-82). Maccabi tried to come back (80-82), but a 9-0 run from the Spaniards (80-91) let them secure a crucial victory on the road.

Here is the video that Maccabi Tel-Aviv created to honour Nate Huffman:
