Brose Baskets did its best in the last 13 minutes of the game, but CSKA Moscow stood tall at the end and beat the Germans 83-77 to claim their third victory in Group D.

Andrea Trinchieri’s team took the lead with four minutes to go (68-69), but the Russians made an 8-0 run (81-72) and secured the victory. Nando De Colo was the top scorer for the winners with 22 points and seven assists, with Milos Teodosic adding 18. For the German team, Bradley Wanamaker had 19 points, while three more players were in double digits as well.

After a close first quarter (16-15), CSKA Moscow took control of the game. They played better in defence and executed well offensively to end the first half in front by nine (37-28), as they outscored their opponents 21-13 in the second quarter.

In the second half, Dimitris Itoudis’ team retained the lead in double digits (58-43), however a 6-0 run from the German team let them remain competitive after 30 minutes in the game (58-49). Things turned upside down in the beginning of the last quarter. Behind Nikos Zisis’ and Wanamaker‘s great performance, Brose Baskets went to a 13-6 run and cut the deficit to just two points, seven minutes before the end (64-62).

The match continued to be a derby, as the Germans regained the lead (68-69), with four minutes to go, making an overall 10-26 run. But, an 8-0 run from CSKA Moscow gave them a nine-point advantage (81-72). Andrea Trinchieri’s players didn’t have time to come back again and, consequently, CSKA Moscow earned their third victory in Group A.
