Maccabi FOX Tel Aviv is in trouble, while Brose Baskets made a huge step towards the Top16. The German champs got the 77-66 win by finishing the game in the best possible way.
The Germans had a 42-35 half time lead, but Maccabi Tel Aviv behind Devin Smith had a 22-9 third quarter and got a 57-51 advantage. However the last 10 minutes belonged to Brose Baskets. After a 16-2 run the hosts got a 64-59 lead and never looked back on the way to a partial 26-9 last period.
Daniel Theis had 16 points and 7 rebounds on his best Euroleague night, Bradley Wanamaker had 15 points and 8 rebounds, the duo of Nikos Zisis and Janis Strelnieks added 10 points each, while Nicolo Melli had a full stats line with 9 points, 6 rebounds and 10 assists.
Devin Smith finished the game with 19 points and 6 rebounds, Brian Randle had 11 and Taylor Rochestie 10 to go along with 9 assists, still defense was once again an issue for the Israelis. When Brose Baskets got back in control in the last quarter, the guests just couldn’t react.
