CSKA Moscow beat Darussafaka 75-80 in the inauguration of the Turkish team’s new, ultramodern stadium. The Bear made a tremendous third quarter (9-22), won the game and remained undefeated in group D.

For the winners, Milos Teodosic had 22 points and nine assists, with Nando De Colo adding 18. On the other hand, Luke Harangody scored 18 points for Darussafaka, which suffered their third defeat in four matches.

In the first half, no team could take a significant advantage. Both teams played mediocre defence and executed well offensively and the Muscovites ended the first quarter in front by five points (19-24). The situation didn’t change in the second quarter, which ended in a draw (24-24), with both teams playing great offensively, and CSKA had a five-point advantage (43-48).

In the second half, though, everything was different. Dimitris Itoudis’ players entered the floor ready to finish the game and did exactly that. They outscored their opponents 9-22 in the third quarter, extended their lead to 18 points (52-70) and were very close to secure their victory. But, Darussafaka came back and cut the deficit to seven points (69-76), with a 17-6 run.  The Russians, though, stood tall, brought the lead back to double digits (69-79) and claimed the victory.
