Strasbourg made one of the best appearances of its entire history and easily beat the defending champions Real Madrid 93-86 at home. This was the second victory for the hosts in group A (2-3), whereas the Whites suffered their third defeat (2-3).

For the winners, Louis Campbell scored 23 points, as three more players were in double digits, whereas Jeffery Taylor had 20 points for the losing squad, with Sergio Llull and Rudy Fernandez adding 20 and 17 points, respectively.

In the beginning, no team could take a significant advantage, with Real Madrid in front by just one (24-25) at the end of the first quarter. Later, things changed, though. The French were unstoppable in the second and third quarter, executing perfectly on both ends of the floor, and with a 54-38 run in total they were in front by 15 points after 30 minutes (78-63). The Spaniards tried to make a big come-back, cut the deficit to six points one minute before the end of the game (89-83), with an 11-20 run of their own, but they ran out of time and Strasbourg claimed one of their biggest victories of its history (93-86).
