Sarunas Jasikevicius has many great memories from OAKA, however this was not one of them. Panathinaikos crushed Zalgiris Kaunas, in which Saras is now an assistant coach, by 35 points (91-56).
From the get go, when the hosts finished the first period leading by 14 points (27-14), it was obvious that Zalgiris was outmatched and this didn’t change throughout the game. The guests never got close and Panathinaikos without feeling any pressure put on a show.
Five players scored in double digitis, Miroslav Raduljica with 18 points and James Feldeine with 15 were the leading scorers, while Nick Calathes added 11 points and 8 assists. Ian Vougioukas had 15 points for Zalgiris.
During the game, Dimitris Diamantidis tied Saras in the 8th spot of the all time Euroleague scorers list as both have 2343 career points in the top European competition and the Greek guard is expected to surpass him in the next game.
