Giorgos Printezis, Matt Lojeski and Nikola Milutinov were spectators, Vasilis Spanoulis was injured during the game and missed the last five minutes but Olympiacos got the 59-52 over Laboral Kutxa.

Τhe Reds led for most of the game, had a 40-26 lead in the middle of the third quarter, however with four minutes left Laboral Kutxa made it a two points game (51-49). Anything could happen, but two big threes by Vangelis Mantzaris and Giannis Athinaiou gave a six points advantage to Olympiacos (57-51) which proved to be enough.

Spanoulis ended being again the top scorer of the winners with just 10 points in a game which was all about defense. From the other side Giannis Bourousis added one more stellar game to his amazing season with 16 points, 15 rebounds, 3 blocks and 5 turnovers. He took advantage of Olympiacos front line woes, however with the exception of Jaka Blazic and Darius Adams who had 11 points each, no other player of Laboral Kutxa had a decent offensive night.

That’s why despite the big third quarter come back, the Spaniards couldn’t get the job done in the end. Olympiacos with a 6-1 record made a crucial step for the top spot of Group B, while Laboral Kutxa is still second at 4-3.
