Costas Pappanikolaou will return to Olympiacos with a contract until the Summer of 2019! The Greek small forward who celebrated 2 Euroleague titles (2012 and 2013) with the Reds will be back in familiar places after his departure from the team in 2013 for Barcelona.

Aris BC and Lokomotiv Kuban were also interested for “Pap” but the player decided to return to Piraeus, despite the fact that there is fewer space in Olympiacos‘ roster and although the other offers were more lucrative.

And what about Barcelona?

There was a rule in Papanikolaous’s previous contract with Barcelona that says that the player should send the papers of the deal to Barcelona. After the Catalans receive them, they have 1 week in order to match the offer. If they do that, then the 25 year old player will once again automatically belong to the Spanish team. If not, then he will officially be a player of Olympiacos.
