A 14-5 run in the third quarter helped Khimki beat Brose Baskets (78-61) in Moscow. This was the third win for the Russians in group F (3-1), whereas the German team suffered its second defeat (2-2).

For the winners, Alexey Shved had 22 points and five assists, with Petteri Koponen adding 11 points, on 3 for 4 from the three-point range. On the other hand, Brad Wanamaker scored 13 points and dished out seven assists for the losing squad, as Daniel Theis had 12 points and seven rebounds.

Although Brose Baskets made a better start to the game (4-8), Khimki immediately responded and went on a 12-4 run to end the first quarter in front by four (16-12). The hosts were playing very well on both ends of the floor and managed to extend their lead to double-digits (24-14).

However, the visitors quickly came back. Executing perfectly both offensively and defensively, they went on a 14-3 run to regain the lead (27-28), but it was Khimki that closed the first half with a two-point advantage (30-28).

In the second half, the match continued to be close (36-32, 40-40), however the Russians enhanced their overall performance and went on a 14-5 to earn a nine-point lead, after 30 minutes in the game (54-45).

In the fourth quarter, things didn’t change much, with the hosts hitting consecutive three-pointers and bringing their lead back to double digits (58-45, 66-48). Consequently, Khimki claimed an easy win at home, as the Germans were unable to make a come-back.
