Thanks to a solid team effort that started from defense, Crvena Zvezda got almost everything right in a game of details and in the end got the 87-73 win over Unicaja Malaga. The Serbs had four players scoring in double digits, Stefan Jovic (15 p.), Marko Guduric (13 p.), Marko Simonovic (12 p.) and Maik Zirbes (10 p.), everyone contributed and that made all the difference.

Crvena Zvezda had things under control almost from the first moment. The first quarter ended with a 21-14 lead for the hosts who had a double digits advantage at half time (41-31) as Guduric and Jovic scored 9 points each. Unicaja managed to stay close, but the Serbs got the lead at the 9th minute of the game and never let it go. To be exact the Spaniards managed to get close at the start of the second half (41-35), Maik Zirbes answered with four points, scoring a total of 10 points at the time (44-35) and order was restored.

The guests didn’t let things go out of hand, they were back by seven at the end of the third period (60-53) and made it a three points game (60-57) by completing a 7-0 run at the start of the fourth. However they couldn’t score for the next four minutes, Zvezda had a 8-0 run (68-57) and the game was over. The hosts led even by 12 points (74-62) took the fight out of Unicaja and got a win without any pressure in the end.

Jamar Smith with 11 points was the only player of the guests who managed to score more than 10. That and 7/22 threes in total was the biggest problem of Unicaja.
