Greek Basket League’s 16th round saw both Olympiacos and Panathinaikos prevailing over their opponents to remain on top of the table, while Aris beat rivals PAOK.

In Thessaloniki, Aris beat PAOK 69-77 on the road, thanks to a decent performance in the third quarter. Although the hosts (8-8) were retaining a double-digit advantage in the first half, the visitors (11-5) made a big come-back and earned a crucial win.

For the winners, Jerel McNeal scored 19 points and Dominic Waters added 17, whereas William Hatcher had 16 points for the losing squad.

With Matt Lojeski being unstoppable, Olympiacos (15-1) dominated Arkadikos (3-13) 60-103, retaining its first place in the standings. Lojeski scored 23 points on 9 for 9 shooting, as Kostas Papanikolaou made his first appearance as a member of the Reds.

For its part, Panathinaikos (15-1) easily won Rethymno (5-11) 84-62, behind a 23-13 run in the second quarter, and is still tied with Olympiacos. For the Greens, Vladimir Jankovic scored 13 points and grabbed nine rebounds.

AEK Athens (12-4) stood tall at the end and earned the victory against Trikala (6-10) on the road (65-70), thanks to a big three-point shot by Papantoniou, with 47 seconds to go in the game. Consequently, Jure Zdovc’s team remained third in the standings.
