Pau Gasol will not be an All Star this season and he admitted in the Spanish radio station “Cadena Cope” that he expected to be in Toronto as part of the East.
As he said: “It is strange, but true. There are always players who deserve to be in the All Star Game and stay out. I am happy and proud of the way I’m playing. I always look at the positive side of things and this break will give me the chance to charge my battery. Still my season deserved the recognition of being in the All Star Game”.
The Spaniard believed that the Bulls are championship contenders, but they have many ups and downs so far: “We are capable of beating top teams and then we don’t have the same discipline against weaker teams. Although everything is very close in the standings, we are still in third or fourth position”.
Gasol was asked also about his future plans and he didn’t exclude the posibility of being a free agent in the summer: “It will depend on the circumstances. It would make perfect sense to exercise the out clause in my contract and see what options I have. I am proud to be in my 35 years of age at the highest level in the NBA and stay for 15 years in the elite”.
